JUNE 8, 2009 - Land of the midnight sun, Vault Dweller, & release updates
Summer is here. It's 2:42 AM and it still looks like the sun has just set (which actually half-happened at around 11:30pm) - and will be rising again in less than 2 hours. It might be the weirdest thing I've ever experienced. IN OTHER NEWS! July will mark the month of THOU's recording session for their side of the HUMAN INTRUDER split 7" that has been awaiting release for over a year now, and if you've heard any of their latest recordings (or any at all for that matter), you will be as fucking stoked as I am for this.
There are also 3 other releases to be announced for the season: First off, STONEHELM (California) recorded an incredibly stoney debut EP that is a must hear for anyone who worships Electric Wizard or Bongzilla, and will be out soon on cassette only with some awesome new artwork. Secondly, the Cascadian Folk Compilation (aka Songs of Sodden Lands) will be available this summer here on the site, and through Nate at Eternal Warfare as well. More about this on the "Projects" page.

..And finally, plans are coming together for another cassette, this time a split between two amazing bands that I only recently had the pleasure of finding out about:
ASH BORER from Arcata, and Belgian doomsters SARDONIS. It will contain one unreleased track from ASH BORER, and all material from SARDONIS' sold-out EP on Electric Earth Records.
It's too early at this point to give an accurate estimation of the release date.

LASTLY (I think), I am also excited to announce that, after many months of inactivity, a VAULT DWELLER tour is being planned for the first three weeks of November.
If you think you can help with a show (or a floor to sleep on), pretty much anywhere in the US at this point, let us know.
I will also be adding other stuff to store like a small selection of shirts, books & zines, and other miscellaneous things. More updates as things progress, but make sure to sign up for the mailing list if you want to receive them as they come.

Dead Earth Records is now located slightly beyond the northernmost point of the Cascadian bioregion, in the frostbitten city of Anchorage, Alaska.
The air is fresh for the time being.

The days are finally becoming longer, and the ice is melting, turning parking lots into lakes.
This place is massive and beautiful. Civlization is still spreading like disease, but the forest is fighting back and the borders are not so defined.
