"Messenger of Doom" Review from
http://www.metroo.eu
(Translated by Orc of http://www.estonianmetal.com)

You can't really be certain about the record company or
about the release date - these guys from the USA are
so deep underground and away from public exposure.
Obviously with criminal intentions these punks have crawled
besides doom metal and are torturing honest instruments,
twisting straight riffs and littering monumental canons -
but the result is so completely insane and compelling in
a good way, that you have to forgive this kind of punkish
foulness on such dignified music. Vault Dweller is playing
rough, but they do it with irresistible bravura and with such
dirty recklessness, that it seems really elegant.
"How does this kind of blasphemy sound?" I hear you asking...
Imagine that Psychoterror (an old local cult punk band)
has decided to play riff-rock music and they have called
Discrucior (another old local band, you can find more on them @
estonianmetal.com) from the times the recorded "Mundus Subterraneus"
with them to their cellar.
So this freely published material on Dead Earth website in 2007
raises another question - why has this raw, novel and sudden
material not been released earlier until now, being with the
metal music as it is "Messenger of Doom" is actually the
best hardcore-punk record I've heard during past five years.
All our local (Estonian) core-scene members should take
lessons from these "nishisõgedikud" (i can't translate this
but it something like crazy people in certain niche)
who come from some hole in Oregon called Salem, because of
their integrity, freedom of cliches and their artistic ideas,
maybe then the Estonians have a chance to stand out in a good way
from other bands in the world aswell.
